Aksharamaala is one of the digital interfaces of Aksharadaan platform. It aims to provide free accessible quality online learning for 10th class students as a compliment to school based learning. Extends open source curriculum and other knowledge based videos and books, free online coaching and doubts clearance by bright volunteers (Connect with GEMs), online question banks and self-assessment, competitive exams and awards, online motivation and career guidance by persons of eminence.
Aksharamaala volunteers collect best quality shareable free online video lessons (10th class -Presently Telugu and English medium), demonstrative videos, animation based science explanations, text books, question banks. In addition online knowledge in terms of books and videos on arts and culture, science and current awareness, motivation and personality development are collected. All the material is organized subject, chapter and subtopic wise as a digital library for easy retrieval and learning by students. The originators of video are duly shown. Aksharamaala do not claim any ownership of the content and do not own responsibility for any short comings in the content.
Any student of 10th class of government and private schools can use Aksharamaala learning modules. Presently it covers Telugu and English medium. However Connect with GEMs program of imparting free online coaching on curriculum and non-curriculum content is limited to only authorized rural government school students.
Connect with GEMs program provides online free coaching for 10th class students covering SSC syllabus, arts, music, science awareness and career guidance. The subject coaching is given by bright Ph.D/Masters/Bachelor level student volunteers (GEMS) from prestigious academic institutions. The subject coaching covers Mathematics and Physical sciences over 4 month’s period (2-3 hrs/week) to fine tune fundamentals and bring sharpness over tough topics. Each volunteer will be assigned only 5 students for interactive one to one coaching with structured evaluation. Student allotment to volunteers considers same gender. Fine arts, sports and career guidance are given by guest teachers who volunteers to support.
Chapter wise all previous examinations multiple choice questions and question papers given by teacher grouped into chapter wise question bank. Student can log in, choose set of questions for a chapter, group of chapters or all chapters. The system randomly picks up questions, student can answer those questions, get the score and compare with answer key. One can repeat as many times as possible till certain desired scoring achieved. Any registered student can avail this facility.
Multiple choice online exams are conducted on periodic basis to sustain focus and inculcate competitive spirit. The best performers are given gifts and awards. Any registered student can avail this facility.
With a focus to bring in personality development, career planning and motivation to think big among rural students, this programs draws support from eminent persons from different field to give online lectures and interactive sessions. These sessions are normally organized monthly once. Any registered student avail this facility.
One can join using email, Facebook, twitter logins or mobile based OTP after duly filling the sign up form.
Aksharamaala invites student nominations from District Educational Officers for the program. The nominated students will be given exclusive login credentials to join free online coaching classes.
Aksharamaala solicit interest from academic institutions to nominate student volunteers for taking up online coaching classes. Those nominated students will be given login credentials to undertake classes.
All interested persons are welcome to register for this noble cause. Aksharamaala also puts in effort to build dedicated guest speakers to support students.
